How do I post a listing?
You must be registered for the Message Board in order to post a listing. We require that all members register in order to maintain the integrity of the boards and swaps. Once you are registered you are able to begin posting. Registration is free and easy.
Once I find an item I am interested in, how do I go about letting the poster know I want the item?
All trades, swaps, sales etc. are to be completed and discussed off the board. You can email or Private Message the original poster to trade personal information such as details of the swap, mailing addresses, etc. The Scrap Spot™ is simply a place designed to facilitate the swap. The Scrap Spot™ assumes no liability for swaps, trades, sales, etc.
Is there a way to give feedback on a particular swap?
We have instituted a forum specifically designed to help you, the members, rate the swaps you participate in to help keep The Scrap Spot™ an honest, friendly place. When you register for the board, your username will be placed in our Feedback Forum along with a poll allowing those that have swapped, traded or sold to/with you to go in and rate the experience as positive, negative or neutral. This is intended to be a place for members to gather information on other members before deciding to swap, trade or sell with them. It is not intended to be a place to flame or hurt individuals. Comments will be welcomed as long as they are deemed appropriate in the sole discretion of the moderator of the forum. Those deemed to be making hurtful or inappropriate comments may be banned from the web site at the moderators discretion without notice.
Are postings ever deleted from the boards?
If postings are found to be in violation of the Terms of Use they will be deleted. We also ask that, once you have swapped, traded or sold the item in your listing, you go in and delete the post to let people know it is no longer available. Every now and then listings that are deemed by the moderator to be old or out-dated will be removed at the moderator's discretion to keep the boards fresh and up to date. You may always re-post an item if it is still available.
What recourse do I have for a transaction gone wrong or a person or post that is not entirely honest?
The Scrap Spot™ assumes no liability for any postings or transactions that occur as a result of listings posted on the site. If you feel you have been cheated or otherwise wronged in a transaction, the Feedback Forum is your opportunity to let others know about your experience. Please remember to keep all comments about the transaction itself and not make personal remarks. Remember to treat others as you would like to be treated.
All disputes must be resolved by and between you and the other person off the board. TSS will not intervene or become involved in disputes regarding transactions arranged on TSS.
Can I add a picture to my posting?
If you have a picture you would like to add you are free to post a link as long as it does not violate the Terms of Use.
What kind of postings are not permitted?
The Scrap Spot™ prohibits the following types of postings on our site:
•Posting of any franchise, pyramid scheme, multi-level marketing, “club membership,” sales rep agency or business opportunity.
•Solicitation of illegal activity.
•Sales of new items from store owners (including online) and manufacturers.
•Links to online or other stores or auction sites.
•Any other posting that the moderator deems inappropriate.
